When we’re not busy working to provide cable Internet in southwest Kansas, we’re out there enjoying the beautiful scenery and spring happenings with the rest of our community! Fortunately, there are several great events coming in the next months, most of which are fun for the whole family. If you’re going to be in southwest Kansas this spring, be sure to check out the following three events.
1. Enjoy National Train Day in Historic Dodge City
Historic Dodge City gets its name from nearby Fort Dodge, which was famous frontier down back in the Old West days. Nowadays, historic meets modern in Dodge City. You can experience this juxtaposition for yourself by going to National Train Day at the iconic Santa Fe Depot on April 30. The event, which takes place from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., will kick off National Tourism Week. While there, you can learn about the Amtrak and get a tour of the main floor.
2. Visit Second Film Friday in Garden City
Garden City hosts Second Film Friday, you guessed it, every second Friday of the month. The event is free and welcome to all. It is held at the Finney County Public Library and features a different movie each month. Refreshments will be served, so you don’t have to worry about going hungry. Films start at 1 p.m. sharp.
3. Experience Spring Fling in Ulysses
If you’re going to be in our headquarter city of Ulysses from April 15 through April 17, you simply can’t miss the annual fun known as Spring Fling.
