Frequently Asked Questions

Inability to access the internet can be caused by a variety of reasons and may originate from either inside or outside your home. Here are a few simple troubleshooting steps:

  1. If you have multiple devices connected to the internet, check to make sure your device is not the only one that is not connecting. If it is the only one, try power cycling your device.
  2. Check the physical connection from the wall/modem to your wireless router and make sure all cables are properly secured.
  3. Power cycle your modem (if applicable) and your router. Power cycling often helps to re-establish an internet connection.

 Your modem is the gateway that sits between your equipment and Pioneer Communications’ equipment. It translates the digital signal that runs on copper or coax cables and turns it into a signal that your router and devices can understand.

 We offer a variety of Internet services for both residential and business customers. Depending on your location, we offer fiber, cable modem, and DSL connections to provide Internet access. To find out what services are available in your area, please visit our Signup page.

 There are a variety of factors that can affect Internet speed, such as the computer you are using, its processor, how many programs you have open at the time you are browsing online, and whether your computer has been infected with spyware or viruses. You can check your current speed here.

Each of these conditions can have an impact on the speeds you are experiencing as well as the overall traffic on the Internet. Run a speed test

  1. To run a speed test Click Here, then click “GO” in the circle that appears on your screen.
  2. We recommend that you run the test several times at different times of day for an accurate sampling.
  3. Please let us know if your download speed does not reflect the tier of service to which you subscribed.

Multiple devices on the same connection in your household, running programs on your computer, an older computer, having a firewall installed, virus and malware, and the amount of network traffic can all affect your speed test results.

Pioneer provisions our modems and network to provide our customers the speed to which they subscribed. However, we cannot guarantee that you will achieve those speeds at all times. If you have run the speed test and are not completely satisfied with the results, please let us know so that we can ensure your service is working correctly. Call us at 1-800-308-7536.

Powercycle your Modem

  1. Unplug the power cord from the back of your modem.
  2. Count to 15.
  3. Plug it back in.

Wait a couple of minutes for it to re-establish a connection. Then, launch a browser and wait to see if the page comes up.

Powercycle your WiFi Router

  • Unplug the power cord to your router, wait 30 seconds and plug back in.

Check for service outage

  • Visit our status.pioncomm.net to view outages or maintenance activities
  • Call us at 1-800-308-7536 to report outages that may occur outside of regular maintenance

In some cases service is interrupted for non-payment. If you think this may be the reason for the outage, call Customer Care to discuss your options.

 The difference between 100 Mbps, 250 Mbps, and 500 Mbps is the amount of bandwidth (speed) each package provides. Each tier allows you a specific speed limit at which you can download content from the internet. The total bandwidth given is only suitable for a certain number of devices connected to the internet.
