Don’t let hackers ruin your day

You’re enjoying your Monday morning coffee when you get an email asking you to click the link to confirm your account information for security purposes. The message even states that your account will be temporarily locked if you don’t.
S T O P right there! Never click on suspicious links or attachments, especially if they come from an unfamiliar source. Hacking attempts can come through email, text messages, and phone calls. It’s best to call the company that the message is claiming to be from directly (with their real phone number, not the one in the email) to double-check that the request is legit. Trust us, it won’t be.
October is National Cybersecurity Awareness Month. Watch for tips like this all month!
